Description

Seems to me to have been improving in quality, so that the distance between its greatness and those of La Tâche and Romanée-Conti are shrinking. The wine was still closed, and even a touch reduced, in the nose. On the palate, though, there was greater generosity than with the Romanée-St-Vivant, with an explosion of spiced plum and blackberry fruit and a density and voluptuousity to the texture. This is textbook Richebourg, and it doesn't get much better than that. Score - (95-98). (Claude Kolm, The Fine Wine Review # 76, 2000)
